Worldwide, April 23rd is celebrated as International Book Day, commemorating the anniversary of the deaths of Miguel de Cervantes and William Shakespeare. In
Catalonia, Spain, they also observe San Jordi Day on that date by giving giftsof
books and roses. To join in on the celebration, the BMHC will give out books to
readers of all ages. The program will begin with a poetry reading by Rebecca Rivera, followed by another installment of our Maxine Sullivan Women in Jazz Series with music by Poems & Strings, led by pianist Carolina Calvache.
Admission fee: $7 | $5 for students and IG residents | FREE for kids 12 and under
