The Routes of the Black Madonna

Featuring the Opening Reception of The Dark Magdalena curated by Tanya Torres.
The opening reception will be followed by a screening of The Voyage of the Black Madonna, a documentary about the pilgrimage to the sacred site of the Black Madonna in southern Italy. A Q&A with the film’s researcher, Alessandra Belloni, accompanied by bansuri player Steve Gorn, will include a discussion about the Black Madonna’s Caribbean expressions led by Tanya Torres and Vivian Regueros. The evening will conclude with a dance
performance honoring La Virgen de Guadalupe by Mazarte.
The exhibit will remain open through August 18; Gallery hours: Wed/Sat 2-5pm.
