Inés Mangual-Cabassa

Inés Mangual-Cabassa is a cultural warrior committed to preserving and honoring the rich cultural legacy of African ancestry in Puerto Rico, the Carib- bean, and the Americas. She is a drummer, dancer and teacher who creates curriculum aimed at enhancing cultural/historical studies for literacy and self-knowledge. She believes in the duality of learn- ing and teaching ancestral songs, dances and rhythms. She has had the honor of performing with Legacy Women, Welfare Poets, Bomba Liberté, Areito Borincano, Ceiba, and Afro-Inspira.
