Abrazos Army

Abrazos Army is fronted by the protest singer/mc/ poet/songwriter, Zero Prophet aka Not4Prophet (formerly of anti- corporate political punk rock band, RICANSTRUC- TION and underground hip hop group, X-Vandals infamy). Abrazos Army is a New York City Uptown-based, SalSoulful Funk meets radical Rap N Roll rhythm machine. Prophet joined Abrazos Orchestra in 2018, and shortly after they ricanstructed into the Abrazos Army. Abrazos Army is a loud and proud product of “The Boogie Down Bronx,” and its Nuyorican heritage . Other members of the Abrazos Army include Abrazos co-founder and back up sing- er, Amy “Aimz” Ponce and percussionist; “hypeman,” and co-founder Anibal Collazo Jr.; bass player Djibril Toure, (who also performs with members of hip hop’s fabled Wu-Tang Clan); sax player Lo Wood; trombonist, Anthony ‘Antman’ DeLeon; trumpeter, Jackie Coleman (who also plays with mariachi group, Flor De Toloache); congero, Michael “MJ” Lopez; drummer/timbalero, Francis Benitez (who also performs with his father, the legendary Latin jazz bass player, John Benitez); pianist Daniel “DJ” Jones; bongo player and percussionist, Ana Laborde; guitarist Carlos “Cosmic” Bencosme; and back up singer, Savina Lee “Savi” Fortis.
