BMHC honors Afro-Cuban percussionist Eugene Golden for his key role in the evolution of NYC’s Latin music scene for the past four decades. The event will take place at Pregones Theater.
Eugene Golden was one of the first Afro-Americans to study and master Afro-Cuban and Yoruba traditions and popular drumming styles, pushing cultural and musical boundaries. Mr. Golden was a key member of Esquina Habanera, La Conspiracion, Grupo Folklorico Experimental Nuevayorkino and many other music groups.
