Kankaba Kanutah

Kankaba Kanuteh is a jali who sings in her native language Mandinka and was born and raised in the Brikama Jamisa ward in Gambia. She learn to sing from her mother Mariama Saho. She has been living in New York since 2004. She will be joined by her brother, Ebrina Jassey on balaphone. He first visited the United States in the 1990s with the Kumareh Band.
